Maison Grignac
sleeps up to: 10
Maison Grignac was built in 1663. It is a beautiful, period country house with a guesthouse, a courtyard and mature gardens. It was first offered for rental in 2003.
The house is situated just outside a picturesque village, 2kms from Salignac and 10kms from the famous medieval market town of Sarlat and Dordogne Valley.
Maison Grignac is a wonderful holiday location. It is quiet and peaceful, but not isolated. Salignac can be reached within minutes by car. If you don't want to bake your own bread in the four-à-pain (bread oven) at Maison Grignac there is an excellent boulangerie in Salignac. We are told that customers will travel up to 20kms just to buy bread from this quite superb bakery!
You approach the property through gates and a tree-lined drive. The property is enclosed on all sides, giving both privacy and security. There is a spacious courtyard with a small covered terrace and a bread oven which separate the main house and guesthouse. The stonework and laves roof are original and very special features of this lovely house.
Maison Grignac has five bedrooms in total. The main house has three bedrooms - two with twin beds, the third with a king-size double bed. The guesthouse, which is opposite the main house across the courtyard, has two further bedrooms - one with a double bed, the other with twin beds.
The Main House:
Lounge & dining room: the entrance to the house opens into the spacious lounge & dining room with a quarry-tile floor and original fireplace. An external door from this room opens onto the rear garden.

Bathroom: also on this floor, the bathroom has a bath, a hand basin and a bidet. There is also a separate toilet.
Second and third bedrooms: the staircase continues up to the second and third bedrooms, both of which are spacious and have twin beds.

The Grounds: The gardens are divided into two main areas - one garden is to the rear of the guesthouse, the other is to the rear of the main house. There is a small gazebo with clematis and jasmine in one garden, and mature shrubs and trees in the other. Also to the rear of the main house is a shaded terrace with a table, chairs and a barbecue.
