Launched at the beginning of 2004, The Dolphin offers luxurious and spacious self catering accommodation in a spectacular setting. Steeped in history and painstakingly restored over recent times, the interior decor has been stylishly updated to complement the historic architecture.
The house features superb entertaining space together with 11 double bedrooms (several featuring Indonesian teak 4 poster beds) and 8 bathrooms, all set around a beautiful Italianate courtyard within yards of the thriving Ipswich Harbor.
The Dolphin House is in the heart of the picturesque Harbor in Ipswich where many luxury yachts and power cruisers are moored and the excellent bars and restaurants give it a ‘St Katherine’s Dock’ type feel. Ipswich is less than an hour from J28 of the M25 and is the county town of Suffolk, perfect as a base to enjoy the Suffolk countryside and Heritage coast.

Notes: The house may be 15th Century but the entertainment systems are 21st Century, with Wide-screen TV with impressive surround sound and DVD in the drawing room and fully equipped sound system in The Dining Hall. All linen, heating and logs are included in the price.
Celebrate: There are 4 main reception rooms downstairs which work seamlessly with the courtyard to provide a real sense of space day or night.
Each room can accommodate all guests when you all want to be together but part of the joy of sharing a house like this is wandering around and discovering groups of people using the rooms differently as the mood takes them. So there may be dancing in the dining hall, pool in the games room, a group chatting by the fountain warmed by the chiminea, another group captivated by the fire in the living room whilst someone offers to get more drinks from the kitchen!
For 2005, The Dolphin House will comfortably sleep 22 adults in 11 double bedrooms. The house is a paradise for children with its spaciousness and hiding places and offers total privacy and security and they can either have their own rooms as part of the 22 or some rooms also have an extra bed so they can share with Mum and Dad (or Grandparents if you’re lucky)
Relax: The Dolphin House feels very much like a country house but is actually in the centre of a town, which offers the best of both worlds. Once inside you feel like you have escaped modern life and been transported to a different age with total privacy and luxury and many guests never actually leave (during their stay obviously). However step outside the door, and you have The Harbor, a wonderful place to stroll around or stop for a drink and something to eat. Yacht charter is easily arranged and can be designed to accommodate all groups and skill levels, spending the day navigating The Orwell and The Stour. The paved walkways and historic architecture of the town centre are within easy walking distance with supermarkets, shops, restaurants and take-aways and places to keep the kids entertained. Catering can be done yourself in the well-equipped kitchen, outside caterers can be arranged or if you prefer, there are several excellent cafes and restaurants on the doorstep
