This typical 19th century périgourdine style house is set at the heart of the Périgord Noir just outside the hamlet of Bézenac and within 5km of the charming villages of Beynac and St Cyprien, where all amenities as well as tennis courts can be found.
The medieval city of Sarlat and its famous market is only 16km away, and there is a 9 hole golf course at Vitrac (12km). The Dordogne River is just a few minutes' drive away, and fishing, swimming and canoeing are possible at Envaux (2km).
Situated in 2 acres of grounds on the side of a steep hill in wooded countryside, the house has southerly panoramic views of the Dordogne Valley and the Château des Milandes. The road in the valley joining St Cyprien and Beynac is 500m below the house. The swimming pool is located on a lower enclosed level below the garden seen in the photograph. An independent dwelling next to the house does not overlook either the house or the pool and garden.
The interior of the house is very bright and pleasant, and tastefully decorated with attractive local furniture and antiques. There are two parts to the house. The wing to the left in the photograph contains a kitchen with a dining table and a spacious living area which opens onto a raised terrace with steps down to a lawned garden.
The main building consists of a twin bedroom, a shower room and two separate wcs on the ground floor and three double bedrooms and a shower room on the first floor.
