Location:
Set on the outskirts of a small village, this is an 18th century farmhouse within a shady private garden of nearly an acre, in private grounds of 25 acres of woodlands and meadows. The village (1.5km) has a bakery and a public tennis court, but for a complete selection of shops and services as well as twice-weekly markets Lalinde is only 6km away. The closest market is at Pontours (4.5km) on Sundays.
On the banks of the Dordogne nearby there are boating, fishing, and river swimming, and riding, golf, bicycle hire are all possible nearby. There is a great variety of scenic routes and places of historical interest all within reach of the property, as well as fine local wine and produce to be enjoyed.
Exterior:
The accommodation is divided into two buildings, the main house and the guest house. They and several other buildings are grouped around a pleasant shady lawned garden. There is a very pleasant large covered terrace with a barbecue, ideal for al fresco dining. The swimming pool is set in a sunny paved terrace in a corner of the estate. There is a small pool house with a refrigerator.
Interior:
The ground floor of the main house has a comfortably furnished living room with an impressive fireplace and oak ceiling beams. The modern kitchen is well equipped and has a dining table (can seat up to 12). There is a double bedroom with an en suite bathroom with separate shower and wc on the ground floor and french doors giving onto the garden. A second bathroom with separate shower and a separate wc are also on the ground floor.
There are two staircases leading to the first floor, a converted attic: one leads to two double bedrooms (each with a washbasin) and the other to a double bedroom (with a washbasin and air-conditioning) through which one reaches a bedroom with one double bed and two single beds.
The guest house is more simply furnished and consists of a large games room with a fireplace and table tennis on the ground floor overlooked by a mezzanine with two single beds, a double bedroom with a shower room and a separate wc on the ground floor.
