This beautiful villa, is located in a little hill village, about 10 Km from Rethymnon. It has been built with great style and expense, and is a wonderful setting for a holiday with extended family or a large group of friends. The villa is suitable for up to 14 people, with six bedrooms, five of which have twin beds and one which has a double bed. There are 7 shower rooms with wc, most of which are en suite and a few of these also have a bath.
The villa enjoys an imposing corner position in the village, and with the character of the old village all around, a more authentic experience is provided. One enters the split level courtyard to the villa through wrought iron gates arched with riotous bougainvillea.
Just across the sleepy little road beside the villa, and within walled gardens, lies the new swimming pool, and sun terraces.
There is a paved loggia at the entrance to the main living area, furnished with large wooden dining table for dining al fresco, and on the various terraces around and above there are bounteous terracotta pots overflowing with plants and flowers. The house is designed on a series of levels and is composed of an elegant main living area, plus a further uniquely styled variety of self contained en suite bedrooms and apartments leading off the courtyard and off upper verandas.
The main living area is split level with marble floors and fine art works, and has a stone fireplace, a baby grand piano, and comfortable sofas. On a raised level to one side is a modern fully equipped kitchenette, and small elegant dining area. A pretty tiny patio leads off the kitchen, and there is a full bathroom/wc leading off from the dining area. On the other side, through a door and down 3 steps there are two bedrooms which share an immaculate tiled shower room/wc. Across the courtyard a door leads to a large bedroom with twin beds, small bathroom with hip bath/wc, and kitchenette. Up a marble flight of stairs, there is another bedroom with en suite shower/wc, with small kitchenette, with french doors opening onto a huge shared upper sun terrace. Opposite this bedroom, there is another self contained apartment, with bedroom, en suite shower/wc, seating area, and gallery bedroom. Leading off the huge first floor terrace with wooden vine covered pergola, there is another twin bedroom, kitchenette, bathroom with hip bath, shower/wc, and then again up a short flight of steps to a further en suite bedroom apartment.
From the first floor terrace there is a narrow wrought iron staircase leading up to a really beautiful split level roof terrace with latticed wood surround, ideal for relaxing in the sun. The roof terraces offer attractive views all around, across to the sea in the distance, over rooftops and old village houses. Due to the village and the nature of the old buildings around, not all of the patios or terraces of Villa Loutro are entirely private. The terraces of the villa have been designed with the safety of children in mind. The nearest beach can be found at a distance of approx. 3 Km. There are some village mini markets and tavernas, within walking distance, and there is a bus service to the village, but we consider car hire to be essential.
