This charming house is located in the typical rural village of Pigi, about 6 miles east of
Rethymnon town and just over a mile from the beach. This is a great base for
exploring Crete, the largest of the Greek islands. Pigi is on the northern coast of
Crete, in an area of both sandy beaches and rocky coastline, between the island's
main towns of Iraklion (about 40 miles to the east) and Chania (40 miles to the west).
You will be able to immerse yourself in traditional village life, while enjoying easy access
to the coast.
This attractive house is located in a quiet corner of the
village, surrounded by a lovely garden. You will find local tavernas as well
as the butcher, the baker, and other essential shops in the center of the village. The
nearest supermarket is a little over a mile away, and additional shops are in Platanes
(2 1/2 miles). Local bus service is available. This is a wonderful area for country walks, to
destinations such as the fortress-like village of Maroulas. The famous monastery of Arkadi
is also nearby. Other recreational possibilities include tennis courts, water sports, diving,
and mountain biking.
The house comprises 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, large
living and dining room, fully equipped kitchen, terrace, and balcony. Comfortably
furnished in Greek island style. Parking is available.
