Villa Collatico is an exquisite designer villa, southwest-facing position. Located on the north eastern shore of Lake Como.
Collatico sits on a sun-drenched hillside and commands extensive views of the lake, the mountains on the west banks and the breathtaking Bregaglia alpine range. Whatever the number of guests, be it 4 or 12, this well-designed villa always radiates a relaxing atmosphere where privacy is not compromised. The villa was built adopting a natural and environmentally friendly design and features a large garden with a swimming pool (12 x 2.5 m, open from May to mid-October). The surrounding neighborhood is a picturesque rural mix of small family farmsteads, fields, meadows and individual homes.
The lake is approximately 1km away, there is a lakeside footpath that also leads into the center of the village, with its many shops, restaurants, cafes, a lakeside piazza, boat dock/harbor and a small rail station. Conveniently, the town’s ring road runs approx. 500 m. below the villa. Just to the south, is the picturesque Bay of Piona, an idyllic spot for sunbathing and swimming. Above the villa, there are endless walking possibilities in the surrounding mountains, such as the hiking and climbing trails on Monte Legnone, (2.609 m).
From day break until the golden red sunset shimmers and settles over the lake, the villa’s spacious outdoor areas offer a delightful choice between sun and shade. The large garden is ideal for outdoor fun and games for the whole family as well as being the perfect spot to simply kick back, relax and unwind. ,br>
No Car:
There are picturesque paths into the village, to several nearby beaches and up into the mountains. By taking the public boat from the harbour, you can reach some of the most beautiful places of the lake. Alternatively, take the local train and enjoy panoramic lake views as you travel down to Milan (direct, no change required) or take a trip out towards Chiavenna and Sondrio. For your convenience, just within your district, there are plenty of typical good trattorias and Agriturismo restaurants. A grocery store that sells fresh bread is about 250 m away from your villa.

Parking is available in the private underground garage. There is direct access to your villa from the garage.
Inside:
Natural "organic" design and dynamic forms flow nicely together, creating smooth transitions between the indoor and outdoor areas. Remaining true to the style of the Lombard Rustici, the stunning natural stone has been left deliberately exposed, including parts of the house interior. Skillful contrasts are created between the fine wood of the oval-shaped living room walls and the parquet floors as well as the extravagant spiral staircase and the wide panoramic glass frontage. The garden level features an elegant winter garden-living room, three double bedrooms, a bathroom and a living/dining room with an integrated kitchen plus a roof-covered panoramic terrace with fabulous westward views over the lake.
The basement invites you to enjoy the sauna or why not try out the sports equipment whilst watching your favorite movie! There is also a wine cellar where you can enjoy some fine wines by candlelight.
On the first floor, which is a complete living area in itself, there is an additional living area with open integrated kitchen, a further double bedroom, a single room with a pull-out bed and a bathroom. There is also a large, furnished panoramic terrace, a clever design which makes you feel like you are on a wide footbridge over the pool and lake. It's the perfect place to relax on the sun beds while simply soaking up the breathtaking views and hot Italian sun. There is a further huge panoramic balcony that wraps around the "mountain side" of the house that can be accessed from every bedroom.
The house can be rented without the first floor at most times of the year. The layout of the villa lends itself to separation easily so no matter whether you are travelling as a couple or as a large group of up to 12 people, the villa maintains its comfortable ambience.
