This attractive old stone semi-detached house has been very carefully and tastefully renovated, keeping its traditional features, to make a comfortable and roomy "home from home", and is furnished to a high standard. It is situated on the road going through Abelendo, about 15 minutes' walk down to the beach at the port of Moaña. NB The road is quite busy in summer. The helpful owners, English David and his Spanish wife Isabel, live next door. There is a little, enclosed vine-covered sitting-out area at the front, with the ancient old stone table which gives the house its name.
Front door into open plan sitting room, archways to very well fitted kitchen/diner. Stairs up to landing, two bedrooms (1 double, 2 singles), bathroom (bath/shower). Stairs to attic bedroom (1 double,1 single), second bathroom (bath/shower). An extra bed can be added if required. Automatic washing machine. Dishwasher. Central heating (solar/gas powered). Weekly cleaning.
Abelendo is a large village, spreading over the hillside above the port of Moaña, within easy reach of beautiful beaches – Moaña beach is within walking distance (about 15 minutes down). The forested hills above the village make good walking country. Across the ria is the major port of Vigo (accessible by road or ferry), and over the hills lies the ancient city of Pontevedra. Santiago de Compostela and the north of Portugal are both within reasonable reach.
But you needn’t go far afield to find excellent beaches and good shopping and eating. Abelendo has several shops and bars (three serve meals), while Moaña and Cangas have shops, markets and restaurants. Moaña’s folk festival, held in August, brings performers and audience from all over Spain and beyond.
