Casa Sabina is a recently built property, set in it's own grounds and surrounded by a high wall giving it privacy. Constructed of local stone and slate, the house is on the outskirts of Vilagarcia, one of the most important regional towns, This coastal town on the Arousa estuary, which forms part of the Rias Baixas, has beaches, a newly built marina, good shopping, plenty of bars and restaurants and a market on Tuesday and Saturday.
This is one of the most famous wines growing regions of Galicia producing the excellent Albarino white. The vineyards of Martin Codaz and Pazo de Barrantes near Sanxenxo are open to the public and well worth a visit. As well as the beach at Vilagarcia (5 minutes walk), there are more to choose from near the adjacent village of Vilanova and on the small island of Arousa.
On entering the house, the small entrance hall gives access to the kitchen on the left. It is spacious and attractive with oak wood units and marble work surfaces, a vitro ceramic hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer and table and chairs for six. From here there is a door to the sitting/dining room with its stone fireplace, enormous sofa, TV, video and dining table to seat 8. There is one ground floor bedroom with a double bed and a wardrobe. The downstairs bathroom has a bath, bidet, basin and WC. The washing machine is situated in a covered annexe to the side of the house.
Upstairs the first room on the right is a spacious bathroom with large oval bath, bidet, basin and WC. Next to this is a large bedroom (ideal for children) with 5 single beds. Bedroom 3 is a double with a wardrobe and finally the fourth bedroom has a double bed with built in wardrobe and en-suite bathroom with bath, basin, bidet and WC.
Outside the large garden has lawn and terraced areas plus some young vines, an olive and conifers; it has some interesting features such as an old stone horreo (a traditional Galician grain store) and a typical stone "cruceiro". To the rear is the 10m X 5m swimming pool with a cover, which can be retracted when desired. The spacious terrace surrounding it, has a granite picnic table and benches to enjoy meals cooked in the adjacent covered fully-equipped summer kitchen and barbecue. This contains a large brick built barbecue, wooden kitchen units and marble work surfaces, gas hob, fridge and a wooden picnic style table and benches.
